Fagus sylvatica
beech, ink 2015
Fagus sylvatica is an old tree with five drawers. In each tray there is carved a beetle that is significant for livving in beech.
The work is also a graphical interactive work without circulation restrictions. The carvings are woodcuts and one can, if one bring the proper equipment, create a print and bring it home
LandSkapt (LandMade) is an annual project in Våler, in the eastern region of Norway which is run by Astri Tonoian, Ida Lokken Anstensrud and me. Our intention is to work with art in outdoor space and collaborate with environmental science to be an arena of knowledge for nature and ecological diversity.
